Been planning to take a vacation and naturally, can't leave my four-legged best friend behind. Got my heart set on Croatia, what a stunning country! But having a bit of a snag finding campsites that would welcome my furry buddy. Wondering if anyone knows any pet-friendly campsites over there? Maybe you've been to one such campsite yourself or heard from a friend? Seeking recommendations or any other advice you might have. Cheers!

You might want to check out Camp Turist Grabovac, located near the Plitvice Lakes National Park. I've heard it's pet-friendly. Also, Autocamp Biokovo in Zagorje, Makarska comes with good recommendations. They're very welcoming to our furry friends. Of course, always good to confirm with the campsites beforehand just to be sure. Hope you have an amazing trip! Just a thought - have you considered any pet-friendly activities in Croatia, too?

Check out Camping Stobrec Split. It's right on the beach and very pet-friendly. Remember, keep an updated vaccination record for your pet when traveling. Any plans on how to keep your pet comfortable during the journey?

That's a great point, making sure our pets are comfortable during travel is a must. What about Camping Resort Lanterna, located in Porec? This place not only welcomes pets but also has special dog beaches. And if you're into exploring historical places, Porec is one of the gems in Istria with a rich Roman history. How do you usually keep your pets entertained during your camping trips?

Those are brilliant tips! I've also heard that camping Polari, located in Rovinj, is a great spot for pets. Could be worth taking a look. My dogs love a good squirrel chase, so any place with nature around always hits the spot for entertainment!

Good call on natural entertainment! If you're still browsing options, consider Camping Simuni in Pag. Lovely beaches and they love pets! How are you planning to tackle feeding times during the trip?

You might want to explore Solaris Camping Beach Resort near Sibenik. They're known for being pet-friendly and have ample space for walks. Have you thought about any specific needs your pet might have while staying at the campsite?

Absolutely, considering your pet's specific needs is key. If you're passing through Istria, another spot to add to your list is CampingIN Park Umag. Peaceful and accommodating for pets. Any thoughts on how your pet adjusts to new environments?

Adjusting to new environments can take a bit for some pets. It's always helpful to bring along a familiar blanket or toy to give them a sense of security. Also, sticking to their routine as much as possible, like regular meal times and walks, can ease the transition. And when you first get to the campsite, a calm walk around to let them sniff out the new surroundings can work wonders. Keeping some treats handy to reinforce positive associations with the new location is a good trick, too. How does your pet handle car rides? Motion sickness and anxiety are pretty common, and there are strategies to help with that too.

All these suggestions are amazing for making sure a pet feels at ease, but have you considered how unpredictable pets can be in new environments, even with their favorite toys or blankets around? Sometimes, despite our best efforts, they can still get stressed or act out. It's also crucial to have a plan in case they somehow get loose in an unfamiliar place. Microchipping and up-to-date tags are essential. Plus, it might be beneficial to research local vets near each campsite you're considering, just to be safe. Has anyone had experiences with pets that needed adjusting beyond the usual comforts? How did you handle it?
